SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHERS NEEDED

Are you looking for a great way to positively impact and get to know the young members of our church? If so, please consider being a Sunday school teacher! We are in need of teachers in third and fourth grades. Please contact Judy Kamp if you are interested.

CONGREGATIONAL LOAN PHASE NOW OPEN

The congregational loan phase for funding of the building project is now being offered. If you are interested in the following, please stop by the church office or contact Bert Kamp to get the proper form for helping the church out with a loan:
•    Minimum $10,000
•    Interest rate 2.50%, payable annually on December 31
•    3-,5-, or 7-year maturities

CHOIR

Do you love to sing? Join the choir! Rehearsals will begin soon. Watch the bulletin for rehearsal days and times. All are welcome to join us in a new season of song. If you have any questions, please contact Carol Vroom, Director, at cvroom@opcrc.org or 708-460-3441.

GEMS CLUB COORDINATOR NEEDED!

GEMS is in need of a club coordinator or a two-person team to head up GEMS this year. This is a fun opportunity to serve with a friend while ministering to the young girls in our church and community through our church’s GEMS program. Please email Judy Kamp for more information.

CADETS NEEDS YOU!

OPCRC Cadets is looking for men to serve as counselors and head counselor.  Please contact cadets@opcrc.org for more information.

FAMILY CLASSICS CAR SHOW

The annual Family Classics Car Show will be held on Wednesday, September 13, from 5:00-7:30 pm.  Please grab some postcards from the information center to hand out to neighbors or at other car shows. The event will feature a car show, bouncy house and touch-a-truck for the kids, and great food. There will also be mums for sale, and all proceeds from the event will benefit our preschool. We hope the car show will be an opportunity to fellowship with our community and share the Good News of Jesus with them. Please fill out a volunteer form (located at the information centers) if you are willing to help out at the car show.

FALL MINISTRIES/PROGRAMS TO START IN OCTOBER

Due to our church’s remodeling project, the following programs and ministries will be starting on or after October 1: Sunday school, Children’s Church, GEMS, Cadets, Coffee Break, and Women in the Word. Thank you for your understanding as we go through this time of transition in our physical building. Please be in prayer for all our ministries as many of them prepare to kick off this fall.

ORPHAN MINISTRY DINNER AND AUCTION

The Orphan Ministry Dinner and Auction will be held on Saturday, October 14, from 5:00–8:00 pm at Southwest Chicago Christian School’s Tinley campus.
It will be an awesome evening, full of good food and fun. If you have any items/services that you would be willing to donate, please contact one of the task force members or email hisheartandhands@gmail.com. Mark your calendars!

"TODAY" DEVOTIONAL BOOKS

The September/October edition of the Today devotional booklets are available (at no cost to you) to pick up at the information centers at church. These devotionals are a great way to enjoy time in the Word of God with your family this summer.

BOXES NEEDED

If you have any sturdy boxes – sweater size and larger – that you would be willing to donate to the prayer shawl ministry, please drop them off in the church office or give to Sandy Huizenga. Thank you!

COOK COUNTY JAIL MINISTRY

Thanks to all who donated Bibles and Christian reading material to the Cook County Jail Ministry. Inmates “check out” these books and Bibles and are encouraged to use them to learn about Jesus – how He can work in their lives and provide strength during their detainment and after they are released. It is a wonderful opportunity to serve others with physical and spiritual needs. Please continue to contribute to this ongoing ministry – the collection box is located under the information center on the east wall of the gym. Thanks!
