We are still searching for the best location for the ministry, but in the meantime we are so thankful that two households have offered us the use of their patios for our weekly activities. We have an activity at Señora Maricela's house every Thursday afternoon and an activity at Señora Ramona's house every Saturday afternoon. We also spend time in the neighborhood almost every day visiting, getting to know people, and building trust with the neighbors. We are so encouraged by their openness to us and by their excitement for the ministry. We have 20 to 30 kids attending each Thursday and 50 to 60 kids each Saturday.
We also have plans for when we have our own location. We plan to continue with our larger VBS type activities that we have already started, but also have more organized, smaller activities available; like reading classes, homework club, English classes, Bible Study, etc. We are very excited about all the ways we can serve the children and the community, but we are also focused on prayer and putting God’s will first in all that we do.
A part from visiting and weekly activities, we have also been working hard on getting everything up and running and organized for the ministry. We are continuing to get the finances and paperwork organized and, praise God, our ministry is now named with the Dominican government.
